TrustSTFC fans meeting

Meeting TrustSTFC fans meeting
Venue Holiday Inn, Coate
Date 06/11/2006
Time 7:30 - 9:30pm
Present TrustSTFC board, TrustSTFC members, STFC fans

The meeting was opened by P. Davies by introducing the members of the TRUST board

Apologies were received from; A. Jones, A. Ratcliffe

Following a question from the floor A. Hounsell explained the constitutional process for election and co-opting members to the board.

It was envisaged that the next AGM would be held at year end or early 2007.

MEMBERSHIP DRIVE

Thanks were registered to the existing membership for advocating the "join for a pound" scheme.

It was revealed that in the previous two weeks that in excess of 350 new members had joined and PD thanked all volunteers who helped in the sign up process. The estimated current membership stands at 570.

This makes the TRUST more representative and more difficult to ignore.

It was decided that we needed to engage the new membership base asap and it was stated by the board that the regular TRUST newsletter would be re-introduced for this purpose.

Welcoming letters would also be distributed to new members hopefully by 11th November 2006.

CONSORTIUM/TRUST LEAFLETS

PD enlightened the room as to the events surrounding the restrictions in handing out the above to the fan base. Although on the whole we had had nothing but good feedback from the people that were canvassed.

CONSORTIUM

Activity is progressing well and to this end there is a mutual temporary segregation between the TRUST and M. Wilks. This leaves MW completely free to continue dialogue with potential investors.

MW keeps the TRUST fully informed of progress, but due to the sensitive nature of the discussions that MW is having they need to remain confidential. However it was stated that we are very optimistic on the progress made thus far.

STFC RACE NIGHT/COMEDY NIGHT

The club has asked us to publicise this event which we are happy to do.

Race night
17th November 2006
Winners Lounge

Comedy Night
7th December 2006
Winners Lounge

Please try to support these events as it is money raised to be put back into the club.

TRUST FUNDRAISING

Various fundraising events are being planned.

Auction to include paintball tickets and sporting memorabilia

Meat raffle every Friday evening in the Dolphin pub - these proceeds to be ring fenced for RAF.

TRUST quiz night at the Dolphin on 29th November 2006

ANY OTHER BUSINESS

There are a lot of members that currently reside outside the borough that find it difficult to attend TRUST meetings. It was decided that the TRUST would look into the possibility of holding localised meetings where the pockets of outlying members resided. The first of these meetings will be held in or around London on a date to be confirmed during December. We would also investigate the possibility of holding an early meeting before the Wrexham game on 13th January 2007.

Ground Redevelopment - The Leisure Strategy Review will be delivered to the Council Cabinet on 15th November 2006. This will instigate a six month period of public consultation. Our latest proposals are complete but not issued into the public domain. We are currently undecided on the timeframe for that release in relation to the Leisure Strategy Review, but it was stressed that our proposals were good for the whole of Swindon, not just STFC.
