Letter to Swindon Town FC

Swindon Town FC
County Ground
Swindon
Wiltshire

4th June 2001

Fao: Mr. P.Rowe. - Chief Executive

Dear Sir,

Re: Swindon Town Supporters Trust
Following our telephone conversation of earlier this week, I now confirm as promised our interest in meeting with both yourself and the club's Directors / Owners to discuss the formation of 'TrustSTFC'.

As you know, we now have a mandate to form the trust and we are currently in the process of establishing the legal framework in which it will operate.

We would like to reassure you that we are entirely independent and have sought no support from any quarter other than media. We are also currently working on a set of constitutional rules that will ensure that we remain independent and democratic.

Some Supporters Trusts have already been instrumental in providing local authorities with the political excuse to treat football club's as a special case in matters concerning planning and lease negotiations, and we are mindful that 'truststfc' could play a pivotal role if that situation were to arise in Swindon.

We'd appreciate an opportunity to meet up with you and your Directors as soon as possible so that we may discuss matters further , and hope to meet you in the near future.

Thank you for your consideration.
Yours faithfully,
A. Ratcliffe. - Trust working party member.
